(Miami, USA) – The International Dance Music Awards is regarded as the number one show for the dance music industry. Over 10,000 ballots are cast to vote for the most innovative and elite artists, producers, promoters, remixers, and record labels in the scene with industry professionals gathering to pay tribute to those who achieved exceptional acclaim throughout the course of previous year. This year’s edition can already be labelled a success for Armin van Buuren’s Armada Music imprint, having earned nine nominations.
Armin van Buuren has been nominated in five different categories competing with Tiësto, Paul van Dijk, David Guetta, Ferry Corsten and Sander Kleinenberg for the Best European DJ Award. Having also being nominated for Best Global DJ, Armin faces further competition from Tiësto, Paul van Dijk and Ferry Corsten, Carl Cox, Gabriel & Dresden and Above & Beyond. Besides Armin’s DJ skills, his production activities are also to be rewarded earning him a nomination for Best Producer.
The other nominations for Mr. Van Buuren are Best Radio Show and Best Full Length DJ Mix CD for a A State of Trance and A State of Trance 2007 respectively. Armada Music protégé Markus Schulz, hailed for his performances worldwide and his artist album Progression, scored himself a nomination for Best American DJ.
With the releases by John O’Callaghan featuring Audrey Gallagher, Big Sky and Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren’s Light the Skies, Armada Music grabbed two other nominations, thi time for Best Progressive House/Trance track. To complete the success story, the label is also in for the Best Global Dance Record Label award.
The selection has been concluded by voters worldwide through the IDMA website and winners will be announced at the Winter Music Conference, Miami on 27th March.
