David Guetta’s Pop Life

Following the release of his international smash album Guetta Blaster in America and a high-profile appearance at this year’s Coachella (USA Today tapped him as one of the key highlights of the festival), France’s David Guetta returns to the U.S. with new album Pop Life. Due October 9, 2007 via Perfecto/Ultra Records, Pop Life underlines Guetta as an artist who aims to move hearts and minds on the dance-floor and the Top 40.

Pop Life features an exciting, brand new selection of songs written by Guetta and first-time collaborations with co-writers like Cathy Dennis (Kylie Minogue) and Karen Poole (Jamelia/Girls Aloud/Lily Allen). The album’s first single Love Is Gone is scorching dance-floors across Europe and in the U.S. it’s currently ranking at #7 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart. Not far behind at #14 is The World Is Mine, Guetta’s club classic from Guetta Blaster; the track continues to rank on the chart after debuting on April 2.

Pop Life is fittingly titled since Guetta is the one DJ who knows pop isn’t a dirty word and whose club nights are open to one and all. “Yeah, some DJs say pop is a dirty word, but I’m trying to be different!” he says. “Of course dance music is pop music! I’m always faithful to my community, but this album also has big, quality pop melodies. It’s the best album I’ve produced. I’m really happy and proud of it."

Currently David Guetta is in Europe promoting the August 20 release of Pop Life in the U.K. and Europe including appearances at his weekly F*** Me I’m Famous residency at Pacha in Ibiza. He will be touring the United States in November in support of the album release.
