International News: Fedde Le Grand dominates at the IDMAs

The annual International Dance Music Awards (IDMAs) took place recently in Miami, with РІР‚?electroРІР‚в„ў well and truly the order of the night in the winnerРІР‚в„ўs circle. Dutch producer Fedde Le Grande scooped the pool, taking home a massive 3 awards for Best Underground Dance Track, Best Breaks/Electro Track and Best Breakthrough Solo Artist. Now wait up a minute… РІР‚?Put Your Hands Up For DetroitРІР‚в„ў considered an underground track? You have to consider this is America, where country, pop and RnB are the only styles given any sort of major radio and TV support!

AustraliaРІР‚в„ўs Dirty South was nominated in the Best Alternative/Rock Dance Track for his lauded remix of EvermoreРІР‚в„ўs РІР‚?ItРІР‚в„ўs Too LateРІР‚в„ў, but was unfortunately beaten out on the night by Gabriel & Dresden with their single РІР‚?Dangerous PowerРІР‚в„ў. Gabriel & Dresden also picked up the award for Best American DJ. Paul Van Dyk took out the Best European DJ title, while Tiesto dominated the Best Global DJ category, and also took home Best Full Length DJ Mix CD for his РІР‚?In Search Of Sunrise Vol 5РІР‚в„ў release. Armin Van Buuren managed two awards as well, Best Radio Mix Show and Best CD Compilation, both for his РІР‚?A State Of TranceРІР‚в„ў series.
