Organisers of Britain’s first weekend long gay festival People’s Party unveiled details of their line-up this week with a heavy emphasis on alternative electro and virtually no funky house.
The two night event takes places at the appropriately named stately home Elton Hall outside Peterborough from July 13-15 and features headline acts including Robert Owens Live Band, Spektrum, No Bra and Joakim plus club events from Horse Meat Disco, Trailer Trash, Bootylicious, Crash London, Duckie and Club Motherf**ker.
Trailer Trash supremo Mikki Most said they’ll be hosting their own stage on Saturday (day and night) �so we can give everyone the full Trailer Trash treatment’.
“It’s really exciting to be involved with this new festival particularly as it’s dedicated to pushing the more alternative side of the gay scene which is great – the line-up looks fantastic,” Mikki told Skrufff.
“And it’s definitely time that the gay scene had it’s own festival to compete with the likes of Bestival and Big Chill. I think it will be a big success,” he predicted.
Mikki emphasised they’ll be doing everything they can to cater to their highly mixed bunch of regulars, pointing out вЂ?it’s more about a great crowd who really enjoy the music than whether you are gay or straight, it doesn’t really matter.’
“I’m sure lots of our gay crowd will coming as well as some of the straight folks that come down – we are thinking of running a party bus up there from Shoreditch.”
Trailer Trash celebrate their third birthday next weekend (Bank Holiday Sunday April
