Snowbombing 2008 Line-Up News

(Mayrhofen, Austria) – Sometimes, just going clubbing isn’t enough. It’s shocking but it’s true: sometimes you want to get away as well, and you also might like the opportunity to go extra hard on the powder… which is where Snowbombing comes in, of course.

In 2008 Snowbombing, the annual festival that combines the best of dance music with the best snowboarding slopes in the world (or some of them, anyway) will go to new heights as it bids to give you the kind of messy winter break that you’ll never forget. This year Platform 12, those ace breaks party bods, are hosting a smashing off-piste bash with old favourites the Stanton Warriors presiding over the DJ action, with their good friends the Freestylers and Annie Nightingale (Radio 1) also showing their own skills. Platform 12 parties are always superb fun in London’s fair city, so there’s no reason to think that their infectious mix of breaks, electro and a super-friendly crowd isn’t going to translate to the slopes of Mayrhofen, where Snowbombing takes place.

As ever, the event unites top live music with the best in DJ talent. That’s why they’ve got the likes of Calvin Harris, Foals and Friendly Fires for you, as well as a guest appearance by none other than everyone’s favourite 80s ska band, Madness. Alongside Suggs’s boys, the DJ talent on display will be, as ever, rather impressive, with the likes of the Plump DJs, James Zabiela, The Scratch Perverts, Jesse Rose, Sasse and Jon Carter just some of the big names doing their thing. That little list should tell you that every taste is catered for – from the drum and bass of Marcus Intalex, to the underground disco of Prins Thomas and Lindstrom, everyone’s here for one party or another, it seems.
